ORION ScanIT: Professional Scanning Solutions for daily usage.

ORION ScanIT is specifically designed for daily use by regular office workers. It enables users to scan a batch of documents: easy and fast!

The ORION ScanIT process consists of several logical steps:

• SCAN - the documents are converted to digital images;
• OCR - the images are converted to "Searchable PDF";
• VALIDATE - the documents are checked and meta-data can be added;
• STORE - the documents are send to a storage location.

SCAN

During the Scan step batches of documents are fed in the scanner and converted to digital images. The speed is depending on the scanners capabilities, starting at 25 pages per minute, up to over 200 pages per minute! Single- or double-sided. Advanced scanning techniques such as VRS and iTresholding enable perfect quality scans for every document, also those difficult, hard-to-read documents. Orion ScanIT supports virtually every available document scanner on the market and many multi-function copiers.

OCR (extra)

Using the optional OCR module enables you to convert the digital image to digital text. This module works in the background and is invisible for users. The result is a so-called "Searchable PDF" document, which allows users to search for documents based on their content and to search for text in the document.

VALIDATE

Orion ScanIT offers the capability to validate the scanned documents and add meta-data to them, such as Supplier, Customer or Project data. This data can be retrieved from or checked against existing databases. Drop-down list-boxes, check-boxes, default values, masks, etc, further speed up data-entry and reduces errors.

EXPORT

The scanned documents can be exported to a Directory on a local or remote server, via FTP(S), HTTP(S), send by e-mail or stored in a Microsoft? SharePoint? server or any other local or remote server. The documents are stored as Tiff or (Searchable) PDF, based on the document meta-data.

PROCESSING

You can process the documents further in Microsoft? SharePoint?. This can be configured by you or your Microsoft Solution Provider. You can track the progress through for instance using Microsoft Business Notifications.
